On Tuesday, November 14, and Wednesday, November 15, 2017, CEM hosted their 2017 Industrial Advisory Panel meeting. The panel was comprised of 19 members from industry including, Dan Smith, Austin Energy; Dwight Alexander, Northrop Grumman; Jay Pickett, National Oilwell Varco (NOV), Grant Leung, Raytheon; Rod Blunk, Dresser-Rand; Greg Martin, Union Pacific Railroad; Craig Peterson & Tyler Scholl, Kato Engineering; Jim Hamel & John Tessaro, Curtiss-Wright Corporation; Dr. Daniel Wise, Siemens Government Technologies, Inc.; John Bosch Jr., Tyrex Group, LTD; Brian Rosenberger, Lockheed Martin; Dr. Michele Thomas, ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company; Juleigh Perona, BAE Systems; Bill Liss, GTI; Ron Van Dell, ViZn Energy Systems; Paulo Guedes-Pinto, TECO Westinghouse; and Joe Ambrosio, Unique Technical Services, LLC.
On Tuesday, the meeting included presentations from CEM’s Executive Team and Drs. Beaman, Huang, Feng, and Bogard, covering CEM’s current, noteworthy programs as well as a Lab tour. Tuesday ended with a catered dinner at the Hebner Residence. On Wednesday, the panel put together their “Recommendations Report”, providing CEM with suggestions to improve their research, with a specific focus on engaging with industry.
